Terms of Use

Last updated 21 October 2026

These terms cover your use of the Workey app for macOS and this website. By installing or using Workey you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Workey.

Accounts and the free plan

Using Workey needs an account. An account is for one person and works on one Mac at a time: signing in on another Mac moves it there, up to 3 times a month. The free plan includes 30 minutes of dictation each calendar month (UTC); unused minutes don't carry over, and free minutes are also counted per Mac. Workey needs to reach our server at least once every 7 days to keep counting. We may change the free plan, with notice on this page. Don't share your account or try to get around these limits; we may close accounts that do.

Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Workey on Macs you own or control. You may not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute Workey, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows that despite this term.

Workey Pro

Pro removes the monthly limit on dictation. You can buy it inside Workey, paying through Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking):

Prices are in Indian rupees and include all charges. Autopay plans are charged at the start of each month of the plan until you cancel or the plan ends; cancel any time in Workey (Account, Cancel autopay) and you keep Pro until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow the Refunds and Cancellation policy. If we change prices, the new price applies only to purchases and renewals after we tell you, and you can cancel before then.

Free-access codes

We may give out codes that add Pro time (for example 1 month or 1 year) to an account. Each code works once per account and once per Mac, may have an end date or a usage limit, has no cash value, and can't be sold.

Updates

Workey checks for updates and asks before installing them. Updates may add, change or remove features.

Your content

What you dictate is yours. Workey processes it on your Mac as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for checking text before you send it: speech recognition and rewriting can make mistakes, including in names, numbers and meaning.

Third-party parts

Workey downloads speech and language models made by others (such as OpenAI Whisper, Google Gemma and Alibaba Qwen) and uses open-source software (such as llama.cpp, WhisperKit and Sparkle). Those parts come with their own licenses, which you also agree to when you download them.

No warranty

Workey is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be error free or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using Workey, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Workey in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Workey at any time by deleting it. If you break these terms, your license ends.

Changes

We may update these terms. The new version will appear here with a new date, and using Workey after that means you accept it.

Who we are

Workey is run by Arun Kumar N S, Navodayam House, Beenachi PO, Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad, Kerala 673592, India. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Wayanad, Kerala have jurisdiction, without taking away rights you have under consumer law where you live.
